Shadows in the Clockwork By: Jim Gandolf

Shadows in the Clockwork
By: Jim Gandolf
Poem
©️07042026WMATM

The clock ticks on, a steady, heavy beat,
Moving us forward, admitting no defeat.

It forces us to pause, to look behind,
At all the memories tangled in the mind.

It’s time to reflect on the ones we loved,
The stars that shone, then faded up above.

The hands we held, the voices now grown still,
The empty spaces time can never fill.

But time demands we look at all the years—
Not just the laughter, but the bitter tears.

To look at the bad in life itself, the pain,
The broken promises, the freezing rain.

The cruelty that catches us off guard,
The moments where the breathing became hard.

The scars we carry, jagged, deep, and real,
The wounds that time was supposed to heal.

For life is woven with both dark and light,
A brilliant morning and a pitch-black night.

We look at the bad, the lost, the left-behind,
To see what we survived, and what we find.

The Death of Objective Truth: Why your Financial Education is Your Best Armor By Jim Gandolf

The Death of Objective Truth: Why Your Financial Education is Your Best Armor

By Jim Gandolf,
Author & World Martial Authority on Banking & Finance

We live in an era where the commodity being traded most aggressively isn’t oil, gold, or tech stocks. It’s your attention—and more importantly, your belief.
Every single day, the financial press floods the market with breaking news, exposés, and high-drama commentary. But here is a reality check from someone who has spent a lifetime analyzing the plumbing of global finance and banking: Just because it is printed in an article, and just because it is broadcast on television, does not make it real.

The Hidden Agenda:
Who is Buying the Narrative?

Years ago, we had a baseline standard known as "truth in advertising." It wasn’t perfect, but it meant there were consequences for blatant deception.

Today, that standard is long gone, buried beneath a mountain of sophisticated public relations and click-driven algorithms.

Modern "news" articles are frequently deployed as weapons of economic warfare.

They are designed with a calculated, hidden agenda:

either to artificially credit a company to pump its value, or to ruthlessly discredit a competitor to trigger a sell-off.

The Golden Rule of Modern Media: Somebody is always selling something. If you aren't paying for the product, your perspective *is* the product.

When a sensationalist piece attacks a major figure or a massive corporation, you cannot afford to take it at face value.

You must ask the fundamental question that investigators have used for millennia: *Cui bono?* Who benefits from this narrative?

Overcoming Our Adaptation to Deception

Human beings are incredibly adaptive. Over the decades, we have become so accustomed to the constant background noise of spin, bias, and corporate manipulation that we have grown numb to it. We accept "expert commentary" that is actually bought-and-paid-for lobbying. We mistake a coordinated hit piece for investigative journalism.
If a group of critics gathers in a dark corner of the market to whisper detractions and discredit a target, those whispers can become a headline by morning. If the public swallows that headline without thinking, the misguided herd wins, and the truth loses.

The Martial Mindset:
Do Your Own Research
In martial arts, you never assume your opponent's opening move is their actual attack; you watch for the feint. You scan the environment, maintain your stance, and rely on your training—not your assumptions.

Finance requires the exact same discipline.

We have a superpower that past generations didn't have: the instant ability to cross-reference data, look at historical balance sheets, track funding sources, and verify facts independently.
Before you let an article change your investment strategy, alter your view of a company, or dictate your financial fears, you must do the heavy lifting yourself.

 Check the sources.
Is the article relying on anonymous shortsellers who profit if the stock drops?

 Look at the hard data.

Do the company's actual banking metrics, revenue streams, and regulatory filings match the emotional panic of the headline?

 Identify the bias.

Does the author or publication have a track record of carrying water for a specific financial faction?

Stop letting the media headlines dictate your financial reality.

Protect your capital, arm yourself with facts, and remember:
in the modern markets, independent research is the only real shield you have.

To Aunt Carol, With Love By Jim Gandolf

To Aunt Carol, With Love
Poem

To Aunt Carol, With Love

Before the years began to spin and grow,
Back to the earliest days I used to know,
You lived beneath my father’s roof, his sister dear,

A constant, gentle comfort always near.

When I was small, a fragile, helpless thing,
You knew exactly what the hours would bring,
Spoonful by spoonful, patient and so sweet,
You guided me and gave me things to eat.

My very first memory of this life we share,
Begins within a crib of dark despair.
I cried aloud, a baby lost in fright,
Reaching for comfort in the lonely night.

And like an angel, you came to my rescue,
Stepping into the room to soothe me through.

You lifted me up and held me to your chest,
And in your arms, I found the perfect rest.

The Ride to the Root Beer Stand

I still can feel the wind upon my face,
Locked in the memory of a golden place:

 * Perched on the handlebars of your shiny bike,
 * A perfect summer afternoon we’d both alike,
 * While Grandpa stood beside us on the lawn,
 * Handing over coins before the day was gone.

He gave you money for a special treat,
To ride us down the sunny, quiet street,
Right to the root beer stand to beat the heat.

I felt so safe, so high up and so free,
With my favorite Aunt right there behind me.

Though time has fallen heavy in between,

And miles have stretched across the years we’ve seen,

The distance only lives upon a page—

For memories do not wither or outgage.

My thoughts of you have never changed or shaken,

The love I hold has never been forsaken.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Carol.

You will always be my rescue, my bike-ride champion, and my favorite Aunt.

The Hamilton County Carousel By: Jim Gandolf

The Hamilton County Carousel
Poem
By: Jim Gandolf
©️05232026

Welcome to the land where the straight lines die,
Underneath a grey north-suburban sky.

Where the asphalt twists in a concrete ring,
And logic is a forgotten thing.

They tore up the lights, said the traffic would flow,
But they didn’t account for the people we know.

In Carmel and Fishers, the madness is spun,
A multi-lane circus where yield means "just run."

The residents enter a permanent daze,
Trapped like blind mice in a cobblestone maze.

They stare at the circle, their brains turning blank,
Like a runaway train with a broken fuel tank.

“Which way do I turn? Is it left? Is it right?”

They panic and shudder, frozen in fright.

So they swing to the left—the ultimate sin—

Going backward against the momentum within!

A head-on collision inside a slow curve,
A baffling display of a terrible swerve.

How do you crash where you’re all going slow?

It’s a mathematical mystery nobody knows.

No cross-traffic daredevils, no running the red,
Just pure, unadulterated chaos instead.

Two miles an hour, a crunch, and a dent,
And no one can figure where sanity went.

“The Spillover Effect”
But the horror don’t stop at the county line line,
Oh no, it’s a virus, a terrible sign.

They commute down to Indy, these roundabout fools,
And bring with them lawless, imaginary rules.

They see a red octagon, bold and so bright,
A standard Stop Sign in the clear city light.

But their brains have been broken, their judgment is gone,
They think it’s a circle! They just roll right on!

"No need to tap brakes, it's a roundabout, see?"

As they barrel right into a Crossroads debris.

So bless you, dear drivers, so utterly lost,
Orbiting endlessly, no matter the cost.

May you one day discover what "yield" really means,
And stop treating stop signs like spinning machines.

Held in the Light By Jim Gandolf

Held in the Light
Poem
By Jim Gandolf

Held in the Light

The road you’re on is steep and unkind,
A heavy storm that clouds the mind.

And though I cannot walk your miles,
Or magically bring back your smiles,
I want to whisper through the noise:

Jamie
You are so loved. You are our choice. One we pray for the healing you have a right to.

The treatments take, the body tires,
As you walk through these fierce, unfair fires.

But underneath the pain and fear,
Please know that we are standing near.

We hold your hand when strength runs low,
And guard the hope you cannot show.

We see the grace in how you fight,
Even on the darkest night.

And every day, we hold one view—
A vision of a healed, whole you.

To see you breathe a little deeper,
To see the path ahead grow steeper
Not with burdens, but with joy,
A life the sickness can't destroy.

So rest your heart, let others hold
The weight that makes the spirit cold.

You’re not alone, not for an hour,
We’re sending love, and hope, and power.

The brighter days are coming yet:

A promise that we won't forget.

The Silent Violin By Jim Gandolf

The Silent Violin
Poem
By Jim Gandolf
©️05182026

The Silent Violin

The mountain roared in copper veins,
A father’s hands in soot and mud,
He traded sweat for gilded chains,
And turned the frontier into blood.

He built the towers, bought the state,
A empire loud with iron wheels—
But left a legacy of weight,
And wounds that gold no longer heals.

A girl was watching from the glass,
As vultures circled in the glare.
She saw the bright, wild decades pass,
And found a world too cruel to share.

For love was just a ledger book,
And beauty was a target drawn,
So one by one, the doors she shook,
And drew the heavy curtains on.
Out in the woods, the châteaux stand,
The empty gardens clipped and clean,
Kept perfect by a ghostly hand,
For palaces she’d never seen.

Let others run the frantic race,
She traded gold for walls of gray,
And shrank her world to match the space
Where Saturday’s cartoons would play.

Within the quiet of Room 3B,
The modern world is held at bay,
With white-frocked guards of privacy
To keep the transactional away.
The linoleum reflects the sun,
The dust motes dance in faded air,
And time is beautifully undone,
With only one true shadow there.

For decades held in velvet dark,
The master’s wood sat cold and still,
Bearing the old, authentic mark
Of music shaped by iron will.

No strings were pulled for vanity,
No crowds were brought to clap or stare;
She kept her song a mystery,
A sacred thing for empty air.

Until the nurse’s child walked in,
Unburdened by a father's name,
Who did not care where wealth had been,
Or how the heavy millions came.

With little hands and open eyes,
They played among the plastic dolls,
Unknowing of the quiet sighs
That echoed through the marble halls.

The dusty latch was clicked at last,
The velvet case was opened wide,
And out from a forgotten past,
The silent violin complied.

She placed it in the young child’s hand—
A gift of unbought, unforced grace,
A truth the world can’t understand,
Born softly in a sterile space.

The music breathes, the shadows blend,
The quiet room begins to glow.

For life in motion has no end,
When love is all that’s left to know.
The empty houses guard the ghost,
The copper kings are turned to stone,
But she is where it matters most:
Alive, remembered, and her own.

To The Mothers and Their Children By Jim Gandolf

To the Mothers and Their Children
Poem
By Jim Gandolf
©️05102026

To the Mothers and Their Children

To those in the thick of the beautiful chaos,
Who wipe the tears and chase the fears away—
You are the anchor in the rising tide,
The quiet steady light that guides the way.

In every hug and every whispered word,
A legacy of love is being heard.

To the Step-Mothers
To the hearts that chose to open wide,
Who stepped into a story already begun—
You build the bridges, you offer the hand,
Until the many threads are knit as one.

It takes a special grace to plant a seed
In gardens you helped bloom in times of need.

To the Mothers Who Have Passed On
To the ones who watch from a distance now,
Whose voices live in the wisdom they left behind—
You are the fragrance of the morning rose,
The sudden, warmth-filled memory in the mind.

Though you have slipped beyond the physical gate,
The love you gave remains in perfect state.

To My Sisters and My Friends
To my sisters, who grew beside me through the years,
And my friends, the chosen family by my side—
I see your tired eyes, your triumphs, and your grit,
The way you steer through every rolling tide.

You are the heroes in the everyday,
And I am proud to walk with you this way.

To Our Neighbors All Over the World
From the quiet streets to the crowded city square,
In every language, under every sun—
The care for a child is a universal prayer,
A common bond that makes the whole world one.

To every woman nurturing the future's light:

Happy Mother’s Day, and thank you.

Pickin & Grinnin By Jim Gandolf

Pickin & Grinnin
Poem
By Jim Gandolf
©️05012026

The television hummed a glow in nineteen-sixty-five,
A flicker in the living room that kept the soul alive.

While the world outside was breaking, caught in shadows and in strife,
The cornfield offered sanctuary, a simpler way of life.

We sat upon the braided rug, the family in a row,
To watch the heavy curtains rise on a Technicolor show.

The banjo’s frantic picking was a tonic for the fear,
As the turmoil of the decade seemed to slowly disappear.

From the "Pffft! You Was Gone" to the jokes within the grain,
We laughed until the ache was gone, forgetting all the rain.

And though they sang of "Gloom, Despair," of misery and woe,
It was the brightest light we had, that corny, country glow.

They’d salute a tiny crossroads, some small spot upon the map,
Bringing folks together, closing every social gap.

From the Delta to the Heartland, they’d announce the local count,
Proving every humble life was a blessing in amount.

Now the world is spinning faster, and the static’s louder too,
But the spirit of the haystack is still calling out to you.

To bring it back would be to bridge the then and the tomorrow,
A vintage brand of healing for a modern kind of sorrow.

So let’s honor every legend, every picker, every grin,
Open up the wooden gate and let the new ones in.

For we still need a place to gather, where the laughter’s loud and free,
And the heart of old-time *Hee Haw* is the heart we need to be.

Am I Saved? By: Jim Gandolf

Am I Saved?
Easter
Poem
By: Jim Gandolf
©️04052026

A small chair in a circle, just five years old,
Where a story of wonder and grace was first told.

The teacher leaned in with a question so grave,
"Child, do you know what it means to be saved?"

The words hung like mist in that bright Sunday room,
Before I knew thorns, or the cross, or the tomb.

I carried that question through seasons and years,
Through the laughter of youth and the salt of my tears.

The Search for the Word
Decades rolled by like the stone from the door,
As I sought out the truth of what "saved" was meant for.

From the child at five to the soul sixty-one,
I followed the light of the Rise of the Son.

I opened the Book, let the pages speak deep,
Of a Shepherd who watches the souls of His sheep.

I studied the shadows, the red and the white,
Until understanding finally broke through the night.

The Meaning of the Cross
Now I see the hill where the sky turned to gray,
Where the debt of my failings was all washed away.

It wasn't just history or a tale for a child,
But a bridge for the broken, the heart reconciled.
A Sunday of Certainty
So this Easter morning, the bells ring so true,
With a clarity sixty-one years in the do.

I know what she meant in that room long ago,
With a heart washed as white as the new-fallen snow.

He died for my sins, and He rose from the grave,
And finally, truly, I know I am saved.

Have a great day with your family and friends today.

In her compelling book The New World, Her Excellency Princess Angel Demaj

masterfully weaves together her fascination with ancestral legacies, the vast potential

readers to rethink legacy, question the role of technology in society, and embrace

stewardship as a force for global transformation. The story highlights practical pathways

toward peace and humanitarian progress; not through dominance or abstract ideals,

shared prosperity, and unwavering humanitarian commitment.

The Echo of Haste By: Jim Gandolf

The Echo of Haste
Poem
By Jim Gandolf
©️03022026

The tongue is a spark in a field of dry grass,
Waiting for whispers and shadows to pass.

But the one who is hurried, who breathes out a gale,
Is a ship with no rudder and too much in sail.

We pity the fool in his wandering maze,
Lost in the thicket of ignorant ways.

Yet even for him, there’s a glimmer of light,
A chance to be led from the edge of the night.

But the man who is reckless, who speaks before thought,
In the web of his vanity quickly is caught.

His words are like arrows shot blind in the air;
They land where they will, leaving wounds everywhere.

To pause is a power, to silence, a grace,
To look at the truth with a steadying face.

For the heart that is quiet has wisdom to spare,
While the mouth that is hasty builds castles of air.

Better to wait for the storm to subside
Than to drown in the rush of a pride-driven tide.

For hope is a seed that in stillness will grow,
While the hasty reap only the seeds that they throw.

Jim Gandolf

I graduated high school at Northwest high school in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1984 with some of my best friends of my life!

I went to three years high school in Port Washington, Wisconsin at Port Washington high school, I did not know that many people but the people I didn’t make friends with at that school we’re completely awesome. I had a group of people, though that were extreme bullies and often I would read the Bible, and I came across this verse in proverbs.
Proverbs 29:20
So I wrote a poem about this Bible verse.
Thank you for reading.

Peace in my Valley By:Jim Gandolf

Peace in my Valley
Poem
By: Jim Gandolf
©️02172026

The world outside may rush and roar,
A storm that beats against the door.

But deep within, a quiet room,
Where steady, silent flowers bloom.

It isn’t found in things I chase,
Or mirrors of a frantic pace.

It’s in the breath, the soft release,
The slow, internal hum of peace.

The Anatomy of Stillness

 * The Anchor: A rhythmic breath that ignores the clock.

 * The Horizon: Letting go of what I cannot change.

 * The Light: Choosing kindness for myself, first.

“Peace is not the absence of the storm, but the calm at the center of it."

Sometimes we just need a reminder that we don't have to carry everything at once.

Thank you,
Jim Gandolf

The Garden of my mind is quite By Jim Gandolf

The Garden of my mind is quiet Poem By: Jim Gandolf©️12292025

The garden of my mind is quiet now,

The thorns that scraped are finally cleared away.

I’ve smoothed the worry from my weary brow,

And let the bitter ghosts go on their way.

Forgiveness isn't always a soft hand,

Or pulling someone back into the light.

Sometimes it’s drawing lines upon the sand,

And walking toward a peace that’s out of sight.

I’ve loosed the heavy knot that tied us fast,

I wish you well, beneath a different sky.

But letting go of shadows from the past

Does not require a second, long goodbye.

The door is locked, the key is in the sea,

I hold no malice, yet I choose the wall.

To love myself means staying wild and free,

With silence as the greatest gift of all.Jim Gandolf
Note

Why This Perspective Matters

This approach to forgiveness is often called setting a boundary as a sanctuary. It acknowledges two important truths:

 * Release: You stop carrying the weight of the anger so it no longer burns you.

 * Protection: You recognize that while you can let go of the grudge, you aren't required to offer access to your life to someone who isn't safe for your peace of mind.
