My Older Brother had a Birthday,
By: Jim Gandolf
Joseph Howard Gandolf; I know that 10-25 is your birthday. I know that; when my sister was creamated in 2012 (Our youngest sister) her cremation number was 1025. I feel that their is something in that number.
I remember before you passed away last year; you were trying to seek help for the delima you was in. Drugs and alcohol took a hold of you in a major way for years at this point. I told you of a story, to when we danced in the rain on the east side of Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 6 & 5 years old. That summer day was filled with rain, and our mother let us live it up in the rain! I felt that the rain was washing us as if the Lord was giving my oldest brother, and I, a chance to live it up in the rain. We felt freedom and joy like no other. Our father was no where around, and my mother, Joe, I, and Jeanine escaped a nightmare of a step father in Anderson, Indiana. The greatest Aunt and Uncle in the world stepped in to help (The Werttenburg Family Ernest Junior Eleanor Russman Uncle Bud & Aunt Melvia) The Step Grandfather Harvey and Aunt Car Green (Carol Harvey) was an amazing youth experience of the rain dance. You and I Joseph had a few battles as we went through the years, but we were blood true and true. I grabbed you before you passed away and we went to the place of the "Rain Dance" of that time long ago. We both talked about everything that we could, I will pray for you on all souls day as much as I can. Happy Birthday Joe; and yes, I, Jim Gandolf love you and miss you.
"I remember the rain dance, Jimmy like it was yesterday, and that was so much fun!" Said, Joseph Howard Gandolf (2017) RIP
